Envelope Addressing Online Workshop

Once you have some familiarity and confidence in your lettering, you might want to start tackling addressing envelopes for yourself and friends, and even try your hand at wedding invitation envelopes! But it can be a little intimidating, and it might involve more planning than you’d expect. 

Sign up for this workshop if you’d like to learn the secrets to envelope addressing. We’ll cover subjects like reducing your x-height to be proportionately appropriate for your envelope size, how to center text on the envelope, a little envelope etiquette (such as when do you use a numeral and when do you write out the word for a number), incorporating color, and more!

Tuesdays, April 5 and 12, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m., US Eastern time.

After you register, you will receive a separate email with log-in information for the online sessions.

You will need the following supplies:

  • Set of broad-edged pen with narrow nibs and pen holder, and/or
  • Set of Copperplate nibs and pen holder
  • Ink
  • T-square
  • .5 Mechanical Pencil
  • Drafting Tape
  • White plastic eraser
  • Gouache in multiple colors (optional)
  • Envelopes for practicing
